5 ways

The fact that we all wish to be successful is a good thing but, being successful doesn’t necessarily mean being one of the richest persons in the world. You’ll agree with me that success is an accomplishment of an aim or purpose.

5 ways to become successful

  1. Define your success for yourself:

Like I said earlier, success doesn’t necessarily mean being one of the most successful persons on earth. Success starts with even the little things e.g. Going on a trip to a different state or country, falling in love, delivering great results at work or acquiring a new skill.

You need to remember that success is having peace of mind which leads to satisfaction in channeling your efforts into something good. Whenever you want to venture into any project, ask yourself this; What will success look like?

Have goals that will support your definition of success.

Let’s take an example,

Some of the goals that supports my definition of success are:

  • Being able to give back (starting with my community).
  • Becoming an artist who inspires people.
  • Loving myself and being unapologetic and,
  • Buying a fast car.

What is yours?

  2. Build friendships:

A friend is a person who knows all your forms, someone who lights up your world when its lights out, someone who respects your feelings and someone who lets you grow in your own space.

You always must remember that friendship is not a one-way street, it works both ways. Just as much as you need someone to lead you through the right paths, your friend also needs that from you.

What has friendship got to do with success?
  • Friends motivate you to work harder.
  • Having a friend boosts your happiness and reduces stress.
  • Friends help you to make better life choices that keeps you strong.
  • Friends can bolster your self-control.

Keep in mind that friendship requires work

  3. Step out of your shell:

Stepping out of your shell simply means stepping out of your comfort zone. The first step to take to step out of your comfort zone is to ask yourself; what am I afraid of?

  • Become clear on what you aim to overcome.
  • Hang out with people who take risks.
  • Be honest with yourself when you are trying to make an excuse.
  • Identify how stepping out of your comfort zone will help you.

What comes next after steeping out of your shell is:

  • You dare to dream bigger.
  • Immense growth.
  • You take on new challenges.
  • You evolve (becoming consciously awake).

And lastly, you’ll realize your life is set up in your own terms.

  4. Understand that failure is a part of success

If there is no failure, will a person ever become truly successful? Saying there is no failure is just like saying there is a life without death, death without rebirth, and sin without forgiveness. You’d agree with me when I say everyone has once failed at something, whether we like to admit it or not.

You need to understand the following:

  • Failure will happen no matter how hard you try to avoid it.
  • Accepting failure does not mean you should expect to fail.
  • Through failure you get to understand yourself better.
  • Failure gives you true confidence to succeed.

Failure builds character and opportunity.

  5. Give back:

One question I always hear people asking is why is giving back so important and how does it contribute to success?

Well, one fact is; if you don’t give, do not expect to receive.

When I say giving back, it could be giving an advice to a friend or even a stranger. Your contributions to people’s lives also contributes to your own success and personal growth. The more you give, the more you receive. I once heard Santa say in a movie “giving is better than receiving”.

That’s a wrap.

I have learned more from just paying attention to the smaller things in life and i bet you can improve yourself better defining your next step carefully.
